Hi, I’m Franca-

the creative mind and hands behind Francie.

My passion for knitting goes beyond making clothes. It’s a way for me to bring color, warmth, and emotion into everyday life. I believe color isn’t just decoration, it’s a form of communication, a tool for storytelling, a statement against uniformity.

I grew up surrounded by craft. My mother taught me how to knit when I was a child, but it wasn’t until much later that I truly understood its creative potential. During the first lockdown in 2019, I began sewing masks for local medical centers on my mother’s old machine. That was the beginning of everything. I taught myself how to make clothes through YouTube tutorials, experimenting with shapes, fabrics, and patterns late into the night. Somewhere along the way, I picked up knitting again- and this time, I didn’t stop.

At first, I made simple scarves and wrist warmers, which I sold at small markets. Over time, I became more confident, more curious. I started designing bolder pieces, exploring not just fashion but also knitted objects for the home like lamps, cushions, even furniture. I want to explore the endless possibilities that come with this material.

Francie is a reflection of my love for color and texture, but also of my belief in making things that last. I work slowly and carefully, with attention to detail and a strong focus on sustainable materials. I love creating pieces that feel personal and full of life.

Outside of knitting, I’m someone who’s easily obsessed with new ideas, always exploring something new, whether the newest hobby or a new interesting topic. I love to research about all kind of things.

I’m currently based in Berlin, Germany, after finishing my studies at the Bauhaus-University, a place that deeply shaped how I think about form, function, and creative freedom.
